Lectures will be provided in English language in ESLA’s main seat in Warsaw (Poland)

Tuition fees:

The admission fee is 150 Euro and it is paid once during recruitment procedure. The total tuition fee per one academic year (2 semesters) – 3.200 Euro


PROGRAMME ASSUMPTIONS

Holders of a Bachelor’s Degree in Philology reach the C1 language proficiency level corresponding to the levels of the of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in regard of all written and oral skills for a given foreign language resulting in fluent communication in a foreign language for professional and non-professional purposes. The graduates acquire basic knowledge of the language, literature, history and cultural life and institutions of the countries in which the selected language is spoken. They will be prepared to continue their studies at the MA level. They will learn about the state-of-the-art developments in the FL teaching methodology and pre-primary and primary school education methods. In the course of the studies, they will also gain knowledge on modern IT technologies and multimedia devices and opportunities related to their use for translation/interpreting purposes as well as interpretation/translation strategies in the area of consecutive and simultaneous interpreting and literary translations. They will be taught basics of the specificity of specialist languages. The will learn specialist legal and business vocabulary: language used in trade and official correspondence, tourism, marketing and advertising.

Holders of a Master’s degree in Philology are qualified specialists with an excellent command of a selected foreign language in an oral and written form, corresponding to the C2 language proficiency level (CEFR). They are bound to become experts in culture and civilization of a selected language area, having comprehensive, specialist expertise in linguistic, literary, cultural studies and history. They will acquire specialist knowledge regarding translation/interpreting techniques and the related skills in translation and interpreting from Polish to a foreign language and vice versa. They will be capable of using a specialist language depending on a selected specialty in law or business.

computer translation studies (apart from the Japanese Philology)

Philology of a selected language in business

EMPLOYMENT PROSPECTS

Philology graduates will have adequate qualifications to pursue a career in: translation agencies, press, radio and TV editorial offices, publishing houses, other cultural institutions and in all places where written and oral expression skills and editorial and interpretation skills at a specialist level are required; schools, tourism and service sector, any and all domestic and international institutions requiring advanced language proficiency level and specialist expertise in cultural life and institutions of the selected language area and intercultural communication, public administration units focused on international co-operation and propagating culture, international corporations
